This broke the record for the date which was 0.14". That shows how rare this heavy rainfall is for Honolulu.The 4.2 inches for yesterday is also the rainiest June day ever in Honolulu.This is also a record for the rainiest June ever in Honolulu. The previous record was 4.26" in 1912. The current total is 5.27" with all but 0.16" falling yesterday and earlier today.Yesterday was also one of the top 25 rainiest days ever in Honolulu and it came during the dry season...Honolulu and much of Hawaii have been in a drought. This should take care of that.Prior to the rain, the only part of the U.S. in an extreme drought was in the southern part of the Big Island.
