A teenager who had been reported missing was found dead Sunday in Bethesda and the police said they are investigating.

The police said the body of Navid Nicholas Sepehri, 17, was found in a wooded area in the 6500 block of Laverock Lane, in the Bannockburn neighborhood. They said an autopsy will determine the cause of death.

The teenager lived on Radnor Road in Bethesda, the police said. His home is about one mile from Walt Whitman High School and about 2.5 miles from where he was found.

The site is near Wilson Lane, and the Bannockburn Swim Club is in the general vicinity. Police said he was found during a search.

He was reported to the police as a missing person after he did not return home Saturday night, the police said.
