Enables construction professionals to quickly measure stockpiles and resolve disputes, without the time and cost of measurement crews.

REDMOND, WA, UNITED STATES, June 26, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Fights over the amount of material bought, sold, produced, or delivered have been a long standing battle in the construction industry. Resolving those disputes requires bringing in measurement crews, taking days, and often costing over $1,000. With the Stockpile Reports iPhone app, construction professionals can measure the material themselves, right away, for a small fraction of the cost, getting measurement results before the time it would take a measurement crew to even show up.

Construction professionals now can get measurements whenever they want, ending the age-old battle over material volumes, creating smooth, accurate transactions for everyone.

A current customer says, “Instead of having to send expensive trained specialists to remote sites, any worker on site can take a measurement with their phone, measuring a pile with this app costs just a fraction of what we paid before to external teams. Now, we just walk around the pile and the app gives us our volumes quickly. It’s a game changer.”

“We’ve been serving the large enterprise construction materials industry around the world since 2012, with our inventory management platform. Now we’re making our patented measurement technology available to everyone,” says David Boardman, CEO of Stockpile Reports. “With the drastic improvements in mobile phone camera technology, combined with computer vision and machine learning, and with the exponential growth in processing power, we are able to make a simple, low-cost, easy to use solution available to the entire market. We’re on a mission to make expensive and time consuming disputes a thing of the past.”

After downloading the app, users can start measuring right away. Pointing the iPhone camera at the surface of the pile as a user walks its perimeter, the app captures high resolution imagery. The imagery is uploaded to the cloud where it gets processed quickly, automatically generating a detailed report. In multiple independent tests the measurements were found to be within 1% to 2% of LiDAR.

“We’ve already rolled out the app out in the UK, and are now making it available in the South African and New Zealand markets,” said Tony Jacobson, VP of Product at Stockpile Reports. “The app was designed to work with free-standing stockpiles up to 3,000 cubic metres.” Companies needing to measure larger piles, or piles in bins and bunkers, can contact Stockpile Reports about their enterprise solution.

To learn more or get started, download the app from the Apple App Store.
