WOMEN’S NATIONAL REPUBLICAN CLUB CELEBRATES 80TH ANNIVERSARY OF THEIR CLUBHOUSE WITH A CELEBRATION GALA

New York, NY, August 28, 2014– The Women’s National Republican Club will commemorate the 80th anniversary of their clubhouse and the designation of the clubhouse into the National Register of Historic Places with an evening of celebration on Thursday, September 18th.

“Henrietta Wells Livermore had a deep sense of patriotism and dedication to the country’s interests, the Founder and First President of the Women’s National Republican Club was a noted Suffragette . Her vision still shines brightly today in this beautiful clubhouse which we are thrilled to celebrate with this beautiful evening, “ said Club President Catherine Lenihan.

The Women's National Republican Club is unique. It is the oldest national club for Republican women and the only one to provide its members with a Clubhouse. The Clubhouse is owned by the Club's members, and the Club is a separate entity not officially or legally associated with any other organization, although its members work closely with the Republican Party. The Club provides its members with excellent dining, meeting facilities and guest rooms close to the center of cultural, civic, business and political activities in New York City. It has members from every state and the District of Columbia. Founded in 1921 to promote the principles of Republicanism, the club encourages women to play an important part in political campaigns and overcome the indifference and inertial that stands in the way of citizens exercising their right to vote.

Designed by Frederick Rhinelander King and opened in 1934, the clubhouse at 3 West 51st Street serves as a midtown center for political, business, social and cultural activities. The elegant house is well-equipped with meeting rooms, dining areas, libraries, conference and ballrooms for small, informal get-togethers and social gatherings or large meetings, galas and conferences. The venue is a perfect place for entertaining friends and clients, socializing and making connections with like-minded individuals.

The Women's National Republican Club is conveniently located at Rockefeller Center and offers 25 guest rooms, a ballroom, solarium, library, and other attractive meeting rooms for either personal or business use. The 3 West Club is located within the Women’s National Republican Club.
