Fenney Bailey and his wife Esther paint their house in Epping Forest, Manchester.

Like other families in Epping Forest, Manchester, the Baileys have already begun to feel the Christmas breeze.

They were in the process of painting their house when THE CENTRAL STAR stopped by last week. Plans are also being made for Christmas dinner.

"Family from abroad come home, and we go to church concerts, enjoy ourselves, and thank the Lord," Esther Bailey said.

She said that Christmas is a special time for her family.

"Even the sorrel tree you see there, it ready this time of the year, and when you draw that, wow, it nice!" Esther said.

Fenney Bailey, the man of the house, is also big on Christmas.

"We farm, so we kill pigs [and] goat and eat. We plant bananas and all those stuff, too. When you plant your own food, you don't have to buy," he said.

But Christmas for the Baileys is not just about food and frolic. For Jemeliea, a daughter in the household, "Christmas represents family coming together and enjoying each other's company".

She said that it is also about "having fun and creating memories".
