Elgin needs new mayor: We have an election coming up in Elgin. We could use a new mayor for one thing. Number two, the people trying to get into office, what are they going to do about the real estate taxes? No one talks about the taxes on these homes.
Gangster White House: It’s like John Gotti in the White House. There are all these thieves and liars. The only thing I’ve seen is they haven’t murdered anyone, but they’re a bunch of gangsters. The good thing is sooner or later the gangsters always go down.
Use foreign aid for border wall: $5 billion is what President Trump asks for the border wall. I suggest using the foreign aid money going to El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras since they are ungrateful and use the United States as a fool.
Check out officials’ salaries: I’d urge all readers out there to investigate the website known as Openthebooks.com. Through checking out their research, you can see exactly how much we are paying public officials throughout the area. When your jaw drops as you view these amounts, you’ll really ask yourself — with conditions being what they are — how can these salaries, benefits and perks be justified. It will become abundantly clear to you why local property taxes in Illinois are among the highest in the nation.
Kifowit should resign: State Rep. Stephanie Kifowit constantly reminds everyone she’s a veteran of the Marine Corps. She should do the honorable Marine thing and resign immediately. Her comments to Mr. Breen were full of hate, incendiary and typical of the rhetoric we’ve come to expect from her. She certainly in her apology — you have to read the whole apology to see her response — made more excusesd for herself than what the comments that were said. Please resign immediately, Stephanie.
Trump relies on gut, not brain: The president says his gut tells him more than people’s brains. I think he’s probably right on that note because he doesn’t have a brain. He does everything with his gut when he should be using his brain. Then again, you can’t use what you don’t have.
Van Dyke shooting: Calling about what I saw on the news about the Jason Van Dyke trial. I think everyone is missing a big point of it. The city of Chicago should have had stun guns available way before Van Dyke shot that person. Or they should have had a bean bag gun available. A stun gun, a bean bag gun, could’ve avoided the whole shooting incident. I don’t know why they didn’t have it available in the city of Chicago.
