Bishkek, Nov. 22, 2018. /Kabar/. Secretary of the Security Council of the Kyrgyz Republic Damir Sagynbaev took part in the sixth meeting of the secretaries of the Security Councils of the members states of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in Moscow, the Russian Federation, on November 21, 2018.
The press service of the Kyrgyz president’s Office reported that the secretaries of the Security Councils of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan also attended the meeting.
Issues related to the situation in Afghanistan, threats and challenges to the interests of the CIS member states, new threats to biological safety, prevention and joint response, areas of joint work to stop the financing of terrorist activities were discussed.
At the initiative of the meeting participants, information was additionally presented on enhancing interaction between the CIS and CSTO countries with Western states and the NATO bloc and Russian initiatives in the area of countering the use of information and communication technologies for criminal purposes.
In addition, information was provided on the efforts of the Russian Federation to resolve the Syrian crisis.
At the end of the meeting, proposals were worked out for the development and strengthening of mutual cooperation in the CIS space.
Moreover, the Secretary of the Security Council of the Kyrgyz Republic held bilateral meetings with the secretaries of the Security Councils of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan on regional cooperation.
