Counterfeit Merchandise Seized During Police Raid in Chelsea

Authorities say if the items they seized had been real, they would have been worth more than $150,000

Counterfeit merchandise was seized from three businesses during a police raid in Chelsea, Massachusetts.

The raid was part of a nationwide anti-counterfeiting effort to identify manufacturers, distributors and retailers of counterfeit products.

It happened late last month and targeted three businesses on Broadway that were selling "knock-off" merchandise made to resemble high-end designer products.

The targeted businesses were: Fiesta Fashion Boutique, Variedades Gift Shop and Coral Barbershop.

Police say from the stores they seized: knock-off Louis Vuitton purses to designer sunglasses, fake Gucci watches to North Face jackets, hats, wallets and other apparel.

Authorities say if the items they seized had been real, they would have been worth more than $150,000.

Investigators say the seized items are in a secure location, pending further court action.
