SOMETHING WICKED AWESOME THIS WAY COMES: For the first time ever, Salem is hosting a film festival for the creatively creepy. Named with a nod to the city’s notorious history, the inaugural Witch City Horror Film Festival will be taking place in prime Halloween time on Oct. 27 at Cinema Salem. The lineup is still TBD, but it promises to feature a selection of the best bone-chilling flicks that also boast local roots. In fact, it’s currently accepting submissions for spooky movies shot by aspiring New England filmmakers through Oct. 5. So if people want to see their spine-tingling masterpieces — be them feature films, documentaries or shorts — projected onto the big screen for all to see and scream, they can find more details on Film Freeway’s website.
TOTAL JUICE HEAD: Connecticut-raised cutie Camille Kostek is now a menu item. The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model, who also happens to be Rob Gronkowski’s lucky lady, recently revealed a concoction created with her in mind at her fave juice bar in the Bay State. “When you go to your favorite juice spot and order ‘The Camille Cooler’…you take a selfie with it,” the former Patriots cheerleader shared while at Canton’s Ruta Raw Juice Bar, a joint she and Gronk have frequented on multiple occasions this summer. “I drank mine…and robs (sic)…next time I need three,” she also commented on the local establishment’s Instagram. And if we’re talking specifics, the ingredients going into her beverage are a blend of matcha green tea, mango, coconut, pineapple and banana — a tropical mixture meant to evoke beachy vibes just as much as its namesake.
YOUNG BLOOD: Sixteen-year-old singer Nicole Michelle was recently spotted hanging out with Nickelodeon star Kira Kosarin, known for the network’s series “The Thundermans,” as well as her own musical career. The locally raised musician managed to grab a snap with Kosarin, who’s currently on tour with fellow Nick alum Drake Bell and is doing a show in Holyoke on Wednesday night, while the two of them were at Kidz Expo in Marlboro this past weekend.
