Two foreign tourists critically injured in car-train collision

A car, carrying two foreign tourists, had collided with a moving train in Kuda Waskaduwa area in Kalutara.

The two individuals have sustained critical injuries and have been admitted to a private hospital in Kalutara, according to Ada Derana reporter.

Reportedly, the accident had taken place this morning (17) at around 10.45 am when ‘Rajarata Rejina’ express passenger train, en route to Matara from Vavuniya, had collided with the car.

The injured tourists are revealed to be a female Russian national and a male Lebanese national.

Kalutara North police is conducting further investigations regarding the incident.
