Portmore United's coach Shavar Thomas says that his team is determined to come away with a positive result, when they play away to Honduran side Motagua in the quarter-finals of the Scotiabank CONCACAF League on Thursday.

Thomas, a former national defender, told STAR Sports that the Motagua team is going to be very difficult to beat at home, but he is optimistic that his team can come away with all three points.

"We want to come away with a positive result, and so we have to be tactically and mentally focused to play against a tough Motagua team," said Thomas.

"We are very motivated because we are one step away from going into the semi-finals, and the guys are enthusiastic and upbeat about advancing," Thomas added.

Portmore, who are the reigning Red Stripe Premier League champions, reached the quarter-finals of the competition, after an exciting 7-6 penalty kick victory over Costa Rican side Santos at the National Stadium two weeks ago.

Thomas noted that his players are in excellent form entering this encounter and that everyone is looking forward to giving a good account of themselves against the Hondurans.

"The focus is even more heightened than the first game, and the guys are ready because we know that they are a tough team and they have good players," Thomas said.

"They have a couple of Honduran internationals that play for them, and so we are looking forward to a tough challenge," he said.

Portmore United will be led by Kemar Foster, Ricardo Morris, Javon East, Ewan Grandison, Maalique Foster, Damono Solomon, and Rosario Harriott.
