Troopers, police seize $56,000 worth of heroin from Southeast Alaska home
More than 56 grams of heroin were seized during a raid at a home in the Southeast Alaska village of Klawock late Saturday evening.
Alaska State Troopers, along with the Craig and Klawock police departments, executed a search warrant on the Summit Stree home at around 10 o’clock, AST wrote in an online dispatch.
Troopers say the seized drugs have an estimated street value of over $56,000. They also seized several digital scales, electronics and cash from the home.
“The investigation resulted in the arrest of 58-year-old Gae Yates of Klawock, and 60-year-old Seattle, Washington resident Armetta Barden for misconduct involving a controlled substance in the second degree,” troopers said.
“The investigation is ongoing and more charges are anticipated.”
