PRINCETON, N.J. - A Worthington native and graduate invested in post-secondary education is about to embark on a new journey at one of the nation’s most prestigious higher education institutions.
Kimberly Betz was recently named executive director of Career Services at Princeton University. The 1987 Worthington High School graduate will take on a number of duties in her new role, including serving as a liaison between current Princetonians and alumni to help eager students achieve their professional goals.
“I’ve always valued education and higher education in particular,” said Betz, who will join Princeton University Aug. 1 after a more than 20-year career in higher-education.
The daughter of longtime Worthington residents Leon and Judy Betz, Betz began her career in 1996 at her alma mater, Carleton College in Northfield. She has also worked at Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio, and St. Catherine University in Minneapolis. Her roles have included program coordinator, assistant director and associate director of the Carleton Career Center, director of internships and director of career development.
According to a press release from the Princeton University Office of Communications, Betz earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in German at Carleton College and the University of Wisconsin, Madison, respectively. She also did graduate work in career counseling at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.
