A flier promoting April 3 as "Punish a Muslim day" has been circulating on social media in Takoma Park, Maryland, calling for disturbing attacks in exchange for points.

ABC7's Kevin Lewis obtained a copy of the flier that accuses Muslims of making people's "loved ones suffer" and trying to turn "the white majority nations of Europe and North America" into "Sharia led police states."

The flier calls for the verbal abuse, assault, torture and butchering of Muslims as well as the bombing of a mosque. The more violent the action, the more points the flier offers. Takoma Park Police say at least one resident has received such a flier.

Takoma Park Police say they are aware of the fliers, which they say targets Muslim families in the United States and abroad.

"We're encouraging the community to be vigilant and to have open lines of communication with the police department," police said in a statement. "And, if you feel in danger, call police immediately."

Police are asking anyone who received the flier or has information on this case to call them at 301-270-1100.
