The legendary explorer Indiana Jones is gearing up for his next big adventure onscreen.

Veteran director Steven Spielberg recently confirmed at the Empire Awards in London that Indiana Jones 5 is slated to start production in the United Kingdom sometime in April 2019.

‘It’s always worth the trip when I get to work with this deep bench of talent coming out of the UK,’ Spielberg stated. ‘The actors, and the crew, the chippies, the sparks, the drivers — everybody who has helped me make my movies here, and will continue helping me make my movies here when I come back in April 2019 to make the fifth Indiana Jones movie right here.’

The film is slated to be released on July 20, 2020 in the United States.

Harrison Ford will once again be reprising his celebrated role as adventurer Indiana Jones for the long-running franchise’s fifth installment.

Frank Marshall and Kathleen Kennedy are set to produce while David Koepp has been attached as the screenwriter. Legendary film composer John Williams will score the film, which will be produced by Paramount Pictures and Lucas film.

The popular film series has grossed about $2 billion (£1.42 billion) since Raiders of the Lost Ark premiered in 1981.
