Two high school students in Semarang, Central Java, have been transferred to another school for allegedly bullying their juniors.

The 12th graders of state senior high school SMA Negeri 1 Semarang were members of the school’s student organization for the 2016-2017 period.

The two students were reported for allegedly physically abusing their juniors during leadership training in November last year. Meanwhile, seven other student organization members have suspended for committing violence.

The case came to light after parents of the alleged victims discovered video footage of the reported violence and confronted school authorities.

“I don’t want to move to another school. Because of the case, I missed the practice national exam [UN] twice,” one of the expelled students told journalists in Semarang on Thursday. (ebf)
