TriMet says it’s adding three bus lines and making other changes starting next week that will help expand service to Beaverton, Tigard, East Portland, Gresham and Milwaukie.

Using Google Earth flyovers, TriMet takes you on virtual tours of some of the new routes while pointing out places to shop and eat along the way.

The changes go into effect starting March 4 and March 5.

New Route No. 1: Line 42 – Denney/Hall

TriMet says this new route that runs between the Beaverton and Tigard Transit centers will ease riders’ trips by bypassing Highway 217.

Weekday service starts March 5. Buses run every 30 minutes to 45 minutes between 6:15 a.m. and 7 p.m.

New Route No. 3: Line 82 – South Gresham

Serving stops between Powell Boulevard and Kane Drive, weekday service for this new route begins March 5. Buses run every 45 minutes between 6 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.

TriMet also says weekend service will go into effect on Line 87 starting March 4, and a modified route and more frequent bus service on Line 152 in Milwaukie starts March 5.

Also beginning March 5, Line 81 in Gresham and Troutdale will have its route modified.
