  • 22 February – 10 March: Dubai Food Festival - Dubai’s annual celebration of everything culinary returns in 2018 for 17 days of tantalising treats. From finding new favourite restaurants, to enjoying a once-in-a-lifetime dining experience, there’s sure to be something for everyone in DFF’s line-up of exciting events.   • 27 February – 3 March: Shaolin Warriors Live in Dubai - The Shaolin Warriors – Kung Fu Masters show will make its GCC debut at Dubai Opera. The five-day run of shows comes directly from Shaolin in China, the birthplace of Kung Fu. 21 Kung Fu masters will be taking part in this fully-choreographed performance, which tells the story of a young child’s initiation and journey to become a warrior. The Shaolin Warriors have toured the world for the past sixteen years, performing sell-out shows filled with awe-inspiring stunts and polished routines.

  • 27 February – 3 March: Dubai International Boat Show - The Dubai International Boat Show is the perfect place to enjoy an irresistible display of super yachts and luxury leisure crafts. Even if you’re not in the market for a boat, you can enjoy the host of action-packed water sports displays and live music that will take place over the course of the show, or visit the shopping village, art gallery and supercar exhibit.   • 1 March – 30 April: Dubai Art Season - Running throughout March and April, Dubai Art Season holds pride of place in the city’s busy cultural calendar, featuring two months of the city’s flagship arts events. The season transforms the Emirate with public art displays, live performances, workshops, and exhibitions that bring art to Dubai’s doorstep. Highlights include: Art Dubai, where the who’s who of the art world descend on Dubai to see contemporary and modern art from around the world (21-24 March, Madinat Jumeirah); The SKIKKA Art Fair (15 – 25 March, Al Fahidi Historic District),an initiative by Dubai Culture to showcase the work of artists based in the UAE and GCC region; An exhibition of works by the Spanish artist Salvador Dali, some of which are being shown in the Middle East for the first time (11 February – 22 April, DIFC); and Van Gogh Alive – The Experience, an acclaimed art exhibition showcasing works by the Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh (11 March – 23 April, Dubai Design District).   • 2 – 10 March: Emirates Airline Festival of Literature - The Emirates Airline Festival of Literature celebrates its tenth anniversary this year with its strongest-ever line-up of international writers. Making appearances over the course of the ten-day event will be bestselling authors Jacqueline Wilson, Anthony Horowitz, and Mark Billingham. In addition to readings, interviews and panel discussions, there will also be literary lunches with famous chefs including Madhur Jaffrey and Ken Hom. Venue: InterContinental Hotel, Dubai Festival City

MUSIC LOVERS

  • 21 – 23 February: Emirates Airline Dubai Jazz Festival - The Emirates Airline Dubai Jazz Festival returns for its 16th edition with a spectacular line-up of international bands and singers taking to the stage over the three days. Headlining the first day of the festival will be British rock band Duran Duran, who’ll be performing some of the biggest hits from their forty-year-career. Performing on the second night of the festival will be the ten-time Grammy Award-winning artist John Legend, and Latin music star Ricky Martin will be making his debut in Dubai to close the festival on 23 February.   • 16 March: TagFest - TagFest, the region’s largest celebration of Filipino music, returns for its second edition on 16 March. Headlining the concert will be the pop punk band Kamikazee, who recently reformed after a few years of hiatus, and will be stopping off in Dubai as part of their reunion tour. They’ll be joined on stage by rock bands Moonstar88, 6cycleMind, and Teeth – who will be reuniting for an exclusive Middle East performance. Fans of Filipino rock won’t want to miss this.   • 22 March: World Doctors Orchestra - On 22 March, the World Doctors Orchestra will perform for one night only at Dubai Opera, under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Founded in 2007, the orchestra is made up of more than 100 physicians from over 50 countries around the world, who exchange their white coats for musical instruments. The orchestra raises funds for medical aid projects, and in Dubai, the concert will be raising money for the Al Jalila Foundation.

SPORTS ENTHUSIASTS

  • 19 February – 3 March: Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships – The tennis season starts with the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, as the top tennis pros make their way to Dubai. Enjoy the best view in a state-of-the-art stadium as some of the biggest names in tennis thrash it out over the course of the tournament. Venue: Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium.   • 31 March: Dubai World Cup - The Dubai World Cup is one of the biggest events on the region’s event calendar. With USD 10 million going to the overall winner, and a staggering total prize fund of USD 30 million, it’s no wonder that it’s known as ‘the world's richest horse race’. The event concludes with an A-list concert and a monumental fireworks display. Venue: Meydan Racecourse.
