Thibaut Courtois is keeping his options open as Real Madrid weigh up a move for the Chelsea ace,

The goalkeeper has discussed a new deal at Stamford Bridge and could well extend his stay.

But Real Madrid are understood to have made Courtois their primary goalkeeping target as they look to improve on current stopper Keylor Navas, according to the Daily Mail.

The 25-year-old also admitted recently that his ‘heart’ was in the city, having previously played for Atletico.

Speaking after the 1-1 draw with Barcelona, Courtois said: “I’m not clear about my future, what I said that my heart is in Madrid was misunderstood.

“I have two children in Spain, in Madrid, and that’s not easy. I have one year left (here) and I’m happy and talking to Chelsea.

“They have bet on me from the first moment and that is not forgotten.

“I do not think Florentino Perez calls me, he will call my agent and he will listen to him.”

What next for Michy?

Borussia Dortmund’s desire to sign Michy Batshuayi in a permanent deal at the end of the season means that Chelsea could have first refusal on Christian Pulisic this summer - despite interest from Liverpool.

Batshuayi has hit the ground running at Dortmund after making the loan move there on deadline day last month; he has scored five goals in three appearances already.

Frustrated by his lack of starts at Stamford Bridge, the Belgian was offered the chance to move to Tottenham in a swap deal for Fernando Llorente - but Batshuayi was not interested in swapping the role of playing second fiddle to Alvaro Morata with the same at Spurs under Harry Kane.

Now seemingly enjoying success in Germany, there is talk of whether the attacker could turn his loan into a permanent one, but that would leave doubt over Pulisic’s future at Dortmund.

The American, 19, has attracted interest from Reds boss Jurgen Klopp, who played a key role in his development during Klopp’s time at the Bundesliga giants.

But Antonio Conte could use Dortmund’s interest in Batshuayi to his advantage, despite signing Olivier Giroud in the January window.

Dropped

Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud were dropped to the bench for their Champions League clash with Barcelona.

Antonio Conte included both of them among the substitutes for the big match at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea went with a front three of Eden Hazard, Pedro and Willian in the last-16 first leg.

Here's what Frank Lampard had to say his old club's forward options as a BT Sport pundit before the game.

"I think Chelsea signed Morata for £60million-£70million – so he has to be your option in these big games.

"The only other side of that is he's been injured, so only the manager and Morata know if he's fit enough to play in a game like this.

"But I do think he has the movement. He's a big lad as well, so he's got that threat. But he's got the movement to test Barcelona in behind and you want to do that.

"You can't sit back all game waiting for them to hurt you. You have to try and test them in behind at some stage."

"I think Giroud's done well in the couple of appearances he's made so far, he's definitely a different option for Chelsea.

"He's a front man that can link and then the quicker, more skilful players can run off of him when he holds the ball up.

"I'm just guessing, I'm just feeling, that against Barcelona there is going to be a lot of energy in this Chelsea team, from front to back, and Giroud might just be an option later in the game."

Barcelona have raised concerns over the Stamford Bridge pitch ahead of their clash with Chelsea.

Barca trained on the Stamford Bridge pitch on Monday night and reports in Spain suggest they were unimpressed by the length of the grass

Mundo Deportivo reports the Catalan giants voiced their concerns and were hopeful the problem would be resolved by kick-off.

Chelsea, who have played twice at home in the last eight days, cut the grass on Tuesday and were aided by rain throughout the afternoon.

It is not the first time Barca have complained over the surface, having done so on previous visits to London.
