Midfielder Neagle is making his fourth stint with the Sounders while Brown completes the club’s goalkeeping unit.
Sounders FC announced that it has signed midfielder/forward Lamar Neagle and goalkeeper Calle Brown.
Neagle, the fourth-ranked goal-scorer in club history, returns for his seventh overall season with the Rave Green.
Brown, a three-year pro out of the University of Virginia, joins Sounders FC after a successful preseason trial and completes the club’s goalkeeper corps alongside Stefan Frei and Bryan Meredith. The signings bring Sounders FC’s roster to 27 players ahead of the start of the 2018 campaign, which begins on Thursday in El Salvador with the first leg of its Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League matchup against Santa Tecla FC.
“We are happy to bring Lamar back to the club and welcome Calle into the Sounders family,” said Sounders FC general manger Garth Lagerwey. “Lamar gives us an experienced and reliable option in the attack, while Calle completes Tom Dutra’s goalkeeper group by giving us three solid players that we can play between the posts.”

Neagle, 30, is fourth in Sounders FC history with 28 goals scored (trailing only Fredy Montero, Clint Dempsey and Obafemi Martins) in 124 MLS appearances with the club, including a career-high nine goals and nine assists in Seattle’s 2014 Supporters’ Shield-winning campaign. The Federal Way native and former state champion at Thomas Jefferson High School was also named the 2013 Sounders FC Humanitarian of the Year.
Neagle re-joined Sounders FC after a trade with D.C. United in August of last season, and now is extending his fourth stint with the club after previously playing for Seattle in 2009, 2011 and 2013-15.
Brown, 25, has spent the last two seasons with the Houston Dynamo, making 19 appearances for the club’s USL affiliate Rio Grande Valley FC Toros.
Softball
• The Washington Huskies once again earned weekly honors from the Pac-12 Conference, with Taylor Van Zee earning player of the week. Van Zee hit .765/.778/1.294 in five games last week, recording multiple hits in every game.
Van Zee is currently on a 10-game hitting streak and has scored at least one run in every game this season.
Hockey
Garrett Pilon had two goals and an assist to help the visiting Everett Silvertips to a 4-1 victory over the Spokane Chiefs.
Riley Sutter and Connor Dewar each scored a goal for the Silvertips. Carter Hart made 28 saves for Everett.
