Tourism Fiji hosted Japan Insights Seminar in Fiji
Tourism Fiji hosted a Japan Insights Seminar in Fiji, on Friday, February 16 to provide detailed insights into Japan’s outbound travel market, and introduce the newly-appointed Tourism Fiji Japan team to local tourism partners and suppliers.
Two members from the Tourism Fiji Japan office – Executive Account manager Yoichi Hayase and Trade Partnership manager Atsuko Seto traveled to Fiji to present this market update, and meet industry partners face-to-face.
Coinciding with the seminar, Tourism Fiji also hosted a familiarisation trip for three travel trade partners from Japan.
These representatives, from JTB World Vacation, Kronos International and Tabix Japan, also attended the seminar to provide first hand feedback to attendees on the Japanese market.
Tourism Fiji chief executive officer Matthew Stoeckel explains: “We have appointed Tokyo-based destination marketing agency, Aviareps Japan Ltd to lead our marketing and promotional efforts in Japan.
“We have appointed an experienced team in market to ensure we best leverage Fiji Airways direct service that commences from 3 July, 2018.
“We have a comprehensive calendar of activities planned within Japan and look forward to working with our Industry and Trade partners in rebuilding this market.”
Aviareps will be deploying a series of strategic marketing initiatives in the areas of travel trade engagement, travel trade marketing, public relations and consumer and digital promotions in 2018 that are available for local Industry to participate in.
“Our Japan team will return to Fiji to attend the Fijian Tourism Expo 2018, which will be held from April 10-12 at Sheraton Fiji Resort and Spa on Denarau Island, Nadi.”
