Whole Foods hiring for N.J. location opening March 21

A new Whole Foods store set to open in Bridgewater on March 21 will mark the 19th store to open in New Jersey.

The opening date, announced Monday, comes two years after the company revealed its plan to open a new store in a shopping center between Route 22 and Chimney Rock Road.

Whole Foods Market Bridgewater will create approximately 155 new local jobs, according to a news release. Applications can be submitted online.

Doors will open at 9 a.m. on March 21 with prize giveaways, special sales and product demonstrations and samples. Regular store hours are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

"We can't wait to serve Bridgewater and the Somerset County Community," Whole Foods Market Bridgewater Store Team Leader Christina Estrada said in a news release. "We look forward to sharing our industry-leading quality standards at a great value, and to serving as an exciting new gathering place for the local community."

The 49,000-square-foot store will sit in the southwest corner of the shopping center, which is also slated to include Saks Off 5th, Nordstrom Rack and Ulta, among 12 other businesses.

Restaurants in the retail center will include Blaze Pizza, Chipotle Mexican Grill, The Habit Burger Grill and Frutta Bowls.

Nine retail lots are still available for rent, according to a listing on the website of the developer, Florida-based Regency Centers.

Other Whole Foods locations near Bridgewater include Metuchen and Clark.
