LONE TREE, Colo. — A hotel was evacuated Tuesday night while police in Lone Tree negotiated with a suspect who they said barricaded himself in a room.

It happened at the TownPlace Suites by Marriott Denver South on Cabela Drive near Interstate 25 and RidgeGate Parkway.

Hotel management called police on the “suspicious male” about 5 p.m.

When officers with the Lone Tree Police Department tried to speak with the man, who had multiple warrants out for his arrest, he barricaded himself inside his room, and said he was armed and suicidal.

The man surrendered peacefully about 8 p.m. and was taken into custody. Guests at the hotel were allowed to return to their rooms.

No injuries were reported.
