CASCO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities say a man was killed after his pickup truck rolled over following a crash north of South Haven Thursday night.
The two-vehicle crash happened at 9:35 p.m. at the intersection of 109th Avenue and 66th Street in Casco Township.
The Allegan County Sheriff’s Office said a pickup truck involved rolled and landed in a field. The driver was pinned in and died at the scene. He was identified by authorities as 63-year-old Paul Hapke Jr. from the Pullman area.
The driver of an SUV told deputies she was southbound on 66th and was unable to stop at the stop sign for 109th, at which point she hit the eastbound pickup.
The driver of the SUV, a 20-year-old from the South Haven area whose name was not released Friday, sustained minor injuries and did not need to go to the hospital.
Authorities say changes are possible in the case, but have so far not provided any information about whether speed or alcohol may have been factors. The crash remained under investigation Friday.
