NH Primary Source: Jason Kander to make seventh visit to New Hampshire of 2017
LEADING THE PACK. Former Missouri Secretary of State and voting rights activist isn’t an announced presidential candidate – at least not yet. But he is definitely acting like one when it comes to the first-in-the-nation primary state.
New Hampshire Primary Source has learned that Kander, who founded and leads the voting rights group Let America Vote, will return to the state Tuesday – this time to help raise funds for the state Senate Democratic Caucus political action committee.
The fundraiser will be held at the Putnam Office Building in Keene at 5 p.m.
This will be Kander’s seventh visit to New Hampshire this year. In past visits, he has appeared at events with Manchester Mayor-elect Joyce Craig and Democratic activist groups, including the New Hampshire Young Democrats and the Manchester Democratic Committee.
Kander leads the pack of declared and potential 2020 Democratic presidential candidates in visits to New Hampshire.
U.S. Rep. John Delaney of Maryland, the lone declared Democratic candidate, made his fourth visit to the state last weekend, while U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan of Ohio has been to the state three times. They co-headlined the New Hampshire Democratic Party’s Kennedy-Clinton Dinner fundraiser on Friday, along with U.S. Rep. Grace Meng of New York.
Other likely and potential 2020 presidential candidates who have been to the state so far this year are Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, former Vice President Joe Biden and Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti.
Expect the pace of presidential candidate visits to the state pick up in a big way after the first of the new year.
