PENDLETON, Ore. (KOIN) – A man connected to a double homicide in Idaho was arrested in Oregon, officials confirmed.

According to Lewiston Police Department, officers responded to the 600 block of Preston Avenue on Tuesday around 5 a.m. on reports of a disturbance. When officers got to the home they found 2 adults dead inside.

A third adult was injured during the incident and was transported to an Idaho hospital in serious condition, according to LPD.

Richard Carlin, 73, was identified as a person of interest in the case and Umatilla County Sheriff Terry Rowan said detectives learned he may be driving a Toyota Corolla and headed to Oregon. They sent out information to Oregon law enforcement and Carlin was arrested at a truck stop in Stanfield, a small town off I-84 in Umatilla County.

Detectives with the Lewiston Police Department are expected to travel to Oregon to interview Carlin. He is will be booked into the county jail and then face an extradition hearing.
