FIRST TEAM ALL-STATE

SINGLES: TESS FISHER, VINELAND, SR.

Fisher captured the NJSIAA state singles title by defeating Ashley Hess of Holy Angels, 6-4, 6-1, and won her fourth South Jersey Interscholastic, Cumberland County, and Cape-Atlantic League Tournament titles in 2017. The NJ.com Player of the Year and two-time All-American also finished her spectacular career with state records in total wins (159), shutouts (103), single season wins (45), and single season shutouts (32).

SINGLES: ASHLEY HESS, HOLY ANGELS, JR.

Hess also won the Bergen County Tournament Big Schools title for the first time as well.

SINGLES: ANNA BRYLIN, MILLBURN, SR.

After two years away from scholastic competition, Brylin returned to Millburn to take over the first singles position for the state champions. Brylin didn't participate in the state singles tournament, but she dominated everyone she faced this season. Brylin finished 22-0 in team matches with the Millers, dropping just 11 games all year, including six in one match against second all-state member, Rhea Shrivastava, of Montgomery, whom she beat 7-5, 6-1. Brylin also won the singles crown at the Essex County Tournament.

DOUBLES: SARA JACOBS, MILLBURN, SR.

Jacobs has helped lay a foundation with the program, and has never lost a dual meet match. Millburn has won 124 straight matches.

DOUBLES: JOANNA ATWATER, MILLBURN, JR.

Atwater replaced Isabella Wuang and teamed up with Sara Jacobs at first doubles for the Millers. Atwater, a junior and three-star recruit, helped Jacobs secure her second straight state doubles crown and Essex County Tournament doubles championship. Atwater didn't play scholastically in 2016.
