The Niger State Police Command has arrested two suspected robbers terrorising Tunga, Minna.

The suspects,  Shehu Illiyasu, 29, and Ibrahim Aliyu,18, were trailed and arrested by police after robbing one Adamu Mohammed of his motorcycle.

They were said to have inflicting injuries on Mohammed before dispossessing him of his Boxer Bajaj motorcycle valued at N230,000.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, Abigail Unaeze, told Northern City News that the operatives recovered from the suspects, a stick they used to attack their victim.

According to her, during the investigation,  Illiyasu confessed to have conspired with Aliyu of Tafa in Kaduna State to rob the victim.

Illiyasu told our correspondent that he committed the crime due to economic hardship.

“I don’t have a job to take care of myself, and that is why I rob people to make ends meet.  I can’t stay without money,” he explained.

He added, “I have no remorse, if given the opportunity again I will commit the crime because the situation is bad. Nothing works in this country, people are suffering a lot.”

The police said the suspects would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
