Three suspects were arrested after police said they stole a chainsaw from an open garage in the Ormond Lakes subdivision and one of them said she it wasn't their only theft.

A neighbor in the 100 block of Emerald Oaks Lane witnessed the burglary Wednesday afternoon and told the homeowner, who called 9-1-1, according to the Ormond Beach Police Department.

Police said the homeowner spotted a beat-up Chevrolet Impala parked in front of her home and thought the engine was loud after the car was driven away, but didn't think anything of it. Moments later, her neighbor ran to her house and told her someone had just stolen her chainsaw and sped off with it, according to an arrest report.

Police said they looked for the Chevrolet Impala containing the three suspects and found it parking in a McDonald's parking lot on U.S. 1.

Three suspects — William Belden, 32, Morgan Esau, 29, and Harley Goodwin, 28 — were arrested. Goodwin was charged with unarmed burglary of an occupied dwelling and providing a false name to law enforcement. Belden and Esau were charged with principal to unarmed burglary of an occupied dwelling.

Esau told detectives after her arrest that she would agree to show them where she and her accomplices had stolen other items in other areas, the report stated.
