BREVARD COUNTY • INDIAN HARBOUR BEACH, FLORIDA – Indian Harbour Beach police are seeking a man suspected of kidnapping “Flounder” the cat from Aloha Pet and Bird Veterinarian Hospital last week.

According to a social media post, the suspect is homeless, has long blond hair, is about 30 to 40 years old and has been known to frequent the beach and panhandle at the intersection of State Road A1A and Gau Gallie Boulevard.

The cat kidnapping incident began when a man was seen taking Flounder from Aloha’s cat room, which is located at 968 E. Eau Gallie Boulevard in Indian Harbour Beach.

According to witnesses, the man charged out the door with Flounder in a duffle bag and was pursued by five people, but the suspect eluded capture by jumping over a fence to a trailer park behind Aloha.

“Flounder’s head was spotted out of duffle bag,” said a witness.

Flounder, who is a neutered male 4-year-old Tabby with shades of gray, was last seen on Bay Drive in Indian Harbour Beach.

A flyer offering a $300 reward for the safe return of Flounder said he is very friendly and will come to his name.

“Please keep an eye out for any cats resembling him,” said the information on the flyer. “He must be terrified as he has never been outside.”

If you have any information about Flounder, call Aloha at 321-777-6444 or email kellyg@alohavet.com.
