Pink beer on tap as Ann Arbor businesses support breast cancer campaign

ANN ARBOR, MI - Area businesses are supporting the University of Michigan Health System's Breast Care Center this month with a new take on the Think Pink, Go Blue campaign.

Now dubbed See Pink, Go Blue, the campaign has returned this year with a new moniker and more than 50 businesses raising awareness with special "See Pink" items available through October, such as Pretzel Bell's Bramble On cocktail and Arbor Brewing Company's pink-hued draft beer called HopBeet.

Other businesses are offering discounts on merchandise and services or events to help raise funds for UM's Breast Care Center, such as the Sweet Grizzly Vie 5K on Oct. 29 organized by Vie: Fitness and Spa.

The breast cancer awareness campaign was created in 2016 as a result of a conversation between Dr. Jacqueline Jeruss, director of UM's Breast Care Center, and Liz Marek, community relations manager for Pretzel Bell.

Marek was inspired to help after hearing Jeruss speak about the funding needed to complete research and conduct programs at UM's Breast Care Center, and the two developed what is now a fundraising campaign to help connect people with simple ways to support the U-M Breast Care Center.
