John Daly's Steakhouse opens in central Arkansas

The first John Daly's Steakhouse has opened in central Arkansas, according to the golfer who lent his name to eatery.

Daly wrote on social media that the restaurant, located at 912 Front St. in Conway, opened to the public Wednesday for lunch.

The location's Facebook page shows its hours as 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for lunch and 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. for dinner from Monday through Saturday.

The restaurant concept is built around the career of the famous golfer, but he is not actively involved in the construction process. Two additional locations have been proposed (out of a planned 10 over the next five years) in Little Rock and Northwest Arkansas.

Daly, born in Carmichael, Calif., developed Arkansas ties while living in Dardanelle during a portion of his childhood and later attending the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.
