A suspected drug overdose in a driver believed to be responsible for a 2-car crash Friday in Independence Township prompted Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies to administer Narcan after he was found in the driver’s seat unresponsive and not breathing.
That driver, a 30-year-old White Lake Township man, was transported to St. Joseph’s Mercy Hospital in critical condition following additional lifesaving measures by deputies and paramedics, according to the sheriff’s office.
The driver of the other vehicle reported no injuries, the sheriff’s office said.
The crash occurred shortly before 2:30 p.m. near the area of Sashabaw Rd. and Baypointe Blvd. A witness reported seeing a woman passenger in the injured man’s car, and said she got out and walked away, according to the sheriff’s office. Deputies were unable to locate her. She was described as a white female with long, reddish-blonde hair and wearing blue capri pants.
The incident is under investigation.
