Kosovo coach Albert Bunjaki to depart role after World Cup qualifiers

Kosovo coach Albert Bunjaki is set to step down from his role after a string of poor results during the team's first attempt to qualify for a World Cup.

Kosovo were accepted by UEFA and FIFA as a new member association last year and fast-tracked into 2018 World Cup qualifying.

However, they currently only have one point from eight matches -- drawing 1-1 in Finland last year -- and sit bottom of Group I.

Football Federation of Kosovo president Fadil Vokrri said after talks with Bunjaki that they agreed he will leave the post after the end of the qualifiers "to open the way to a newcomer."

Kosovo have two remaining qualifiers to play against Ukraine and Iceland next month.
