Camila Cabello has managed to find success after leaving FIfth Harmony, but her journey to become a solo artist wasn’t an easy one. The “Crying in the Club” singer revealed that she had to have a positive outlook on life in order to feel confident within herself.

The 20-year-old singer has been tapped to become Radio Disney’s Next Big Thing and the first look at her feature on the series was revealed on Thursday, the same day she released two new songs. Hollywood Life obtained an exclusive video of the series, which showcased Cabello pursuing her solo career.

The series follows up-and-coming artists as they follow their dreams. Cabello will hold the spotlight for the month of August, and her story will be featured on Radio Disney, the Radio Disney app, the Disney Channel and various social media platforms.

In the video, the singer is seen enjoying life while working on her music. “Be proud of who you are. Follow your heart. Stand up for others. Follow your inner voice. Follow your dreams and don’t be afraid to fail. Be brave. Be strong. Be different,” she can be heard saying over the images.

Cabello continued her words of encouragement. “Push boundaries. Love yourself. This is how I found my voice. Don’t be afraid to find yours,” she says.

Cabello first left Fifth Harmony in December, in order to pursue a solo career. A few months after leaving the group, the singer told Billboard that she has always encouraged her former group members-- Normani Kordei, Lauren Jauregui, Ally Brooke Hernandez and Dinah Jane Hansen--to follow their dreams.

“I was always super open [that] I couldn’t just sing other people’s words and be totally happy with that. You have to follow and honor that inner voice. I always encouraged the girls to do the same,” she told the magazine.

Following her exit, Cabello released a statement explaining why she had to be brave enough to walk away from the successful group and stand on her own.

“I will continue to root them all on as individuals and as a group. I wish nothing but the best for them, all the success in the world and true happiness. Just as I said to them during those conversations, and just like I try to encourage you guys, I want to lead by example when I say to each of you guys to be courageous in the pursuit of what makes your heart pound and what makes you come alive with purpose,” she stated at the time.
