Cuba´s Parliament President visits Vietnam

HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 12 (ACN) Esteban Lazo, President of the Cuban national People´s Power Assembly started on Sunday an official visit to Vietnam, reported Prensa Latina news agency.

Lazo and the delegation he heads was received in Hanoi by the director of the commission of Foreign Relations of the Vietnamese Parliament Nguyen Van Sao.
The Cuban leader was invited by his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and besides having several activities in the capital city will visit provinces in the Northern and Southern parts of Vietnam.
This Monday Lazo will address the Vietnamese Parliament, currently in session, and will meet with several top government and party officials, as well as with Vietnamese professionals that trained in Cuba.
Cuba and Vietnam established diplomatic relations on December 2, 1960 and have kept excellent relations ever since.
President of the Parliament, Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, led the Vietnamese delagation that attended the funeral rites of Cuban revolution leader Fidel Castro last December.
