ALEA

A crash early this morning in St. Clair County left a Ragland man dead.

Joseph Devan Wilson was driving his 2010 Dodge Challenger when the car left the roadway and overturned at 4:10 a.m., Senior Trooper Chuck Daniel said.

The 23-year-old was partially ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Wilson was not wearing a seatbelt.

The crash happened on Alabama Highway 144 in the city limits of Ragland.

Daniel said the preliminary investigation indicates that speed was a factor, and Alabama State Troopers are continuing to investigate.
