The sky around the Great Orme was awash with model aircrafts this weekend.

More than 100 enthusiasts flew gliders from the vantage point next to Llandudno , including one from Belgium, who flew a scaled model of a McDonnell Douglas A-4 Skyhawk.

The model aircraft flying day was staged by the Power Scale Soaring Association (PSSA), and saw model-makers from across the world take part.

The event, held over Saturday and Sunday, started at the Tank Track car park and saw a variety of small and large aircraft including replica war planes and jets.

One spectator said: “It was the best turn-out we’ve ever had in the history of the event.

“It was a real success.”
