ANGELS golf tourney rescheduled

Jamestown Regional Medical Center's annual GOLF "fore" ANGELS 9-hole golf tournament has been rescheduled for Aug. 4. The event, being held at the Jamestown Country Club, was originally set for Aug. 3.

The tournament helps pay medical bills for parents who have experienced the loss of an infant due to unexpected circumstances through the JRMC Foundation. The tournament raised approximately $9,000 in 2017.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. on Aug. 4 at JCC, with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. A luncheon is set for 1 p.m. with a silent auction and awards to follow.

Area athletes earn gold

Jamestown's Heather Martell and Skyler Lux each earned gold medals during the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games held July 2-6 in Seattle, Wash.

Martell earned gold in the women's shot put and in the 4x100 relay for Special Olympics North Dakota, while also earning bronze in the 200 meters and a sixth-place ribbon in the 100 meters. Lux earned gold for running the men's 100 meters and also collected two fourth-place ribbons in the 200 meters and shot put.

Jamestown's Myron Houser helped Team North Dakota's men's basketball team place fourth. North Dakota earned 18 medals overall-five gold medals, seven silver medals and six bronze medals.

Blue Jay youth football camp

Blue Jay youth football camp will be held this Tuesday through Thursday at Ernie Gates Field in Jamestown.

The camp for grades 4-6 begins with registration at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 17. Camp will be conducted from 6:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
