Havana, May 26 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Deputy Prime Minister Ricardo Cabrisas and the head of Government of the Republic of San Marino, Luca Beccari, met in Havana on Friday to discuss the mutual interest in strengthening bilateral relations in various spheres.

Cabrisas expressed Cuba’s interest in strengthening ties in the economic, commercial and health spheres, despite the complex economic context that Cuba is facing, but said that we must turn each difficulty and each problem into an opportunity to move forward.

In turn, Becari, who is also the secretary of State for Foreign Relations, International Economic Cooperation, Telecommunications of San Marino, expressed satisfaction with being in Cuba and that his visit will serve to strengthen bilateral ties, which he described as stable and durable.

He added that during this visit, important memorandums of understanding have been signed, including one on international and political collaboration, and another one on medical collaboration.

I think that the foundations were laid to work on future projects, he asserted.

The two countries are far away and are different, but they have many similar characteristics in common in many aspects of the organization of the State, healthcare approaches, and they are in economic development and always considering the social aspect, Beccari listed.

San Marino has systematically supported the Cuban demand for the lifting of the United States blockade, which is harmful to the people and the economic and social development of the country, and to third States interested in promoting their economic ties with Cuba.

San Marino’s foreign minister is in Cuba on an official visit that began on Thursday.
