Football Federation of Belize, Premier League of Belize express condolences on passing of David Cruz Sr

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: “The Football Federation of Belize takes this opportunity to express our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Mr. David Cruz Sr,” said the Football Federation of Belize (FFB).

“We express our gratitude to the contributions he made to football and sports. May he RIP.”

The FFB acknowledges that as a member of the Belize National Football Association (BNFA), that preceded the FFB, Cruz was instrumental in Belize becoming a member of FIFA, the world governing body of the sport. During his involvement with football, Cruz was also manager of the famed Cayo team, the Avengers Football Club.

“The Premier League of Belize would like to express our deepest condolences in this time of bereavement to the family and friends of Mr. David Cruz Sr.,” said the Premier League of Belize (PLB).

“His accomplishment in football was indeed historic…. May he RIP.”

Cruz was the uncle of PLB Executive Member and Verdes FC Manager Lorin Frazer.

Cruz died last week.
