The Hall County Sheriff's Office is investigating a Gainesville man who was arrested Friday afternoon and charged with sexual battery and child molestation.
Deputies arrested Jerry Taylor Woodall, 80, at his home in the 3000 block of Gilleland Extension.
Investigators said Woodall committed the crimes at his house on March 21 against a female child. According to a news release from the sheriff's office, he knew the victim.
One of the victim's family members reported the incident the following day. Woodall was taken to the Hall County Jail following his arrest, but posted a $44,400 bond and was released from jail Saturday afternoon.
