Havana, February 12 (RHC) President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez said Wednesday that Cuba would not give in to threats, pressure, and sanctions from the U.S. government.

The President commented on Twitter, where he referred to an article by Granma newspaper that rejects the increase of punitive measures and financial persecution against the Caribbean nation.

"Hysteria against a people who defeat the empire every day. We will not give in to threats, pressures, and sanctions', the Cuban president wrote.

The article stresses that "imperial policy, in the hands of a schizophrenic in power, becomes more aggressive, because it is the result of the impotence and hysteria of a character who thinks he is God. But Donald Trump, despite all his money, is nothing less than a poor devil, " the text said.

The article adds that Trumps becomes more uncontrollable the more the island’s people triumph because the resistance and development that we propose is an affront to the alienated head of the empire, who is not prepared to understand a united country of workers, scientists, intellectuals and students, nor a model of social development that puts the human being first.
