A Los Angeles married couple and another family member have been missing in Mexico for two weeks.

Yesenia Trujillo, of West Covina, told KABC that she last spoke to her parents Delfina Florentino Hernández, 52, and Jorge Olaf Placencia, 58, on January 1 and they have been missing since January 3.

Also missing is Trujillo's uncle Pedro, who is Florentino Hernández's 40-year-old brother.

The missing couple's concerned daughter says she received a Facebook message from a person identified as Lizycar indicating information related leading to her parent's location and demanded the equivalent of $500. She also said that the police warned her not to travel to her parents' hometown of Nochistlán in the state of Zacatecas.

The Spanish-written message read: 'I know where they have your family that your are searching for. Get me 10,000 pesos and I will give you the exact location. I do not have them.'

Trujillo replied, 'please tell me where,' before the author behind the Facebook account wrote, 'lets make the agreement and I will confirm immediately and you act upon.'

'They said to give them that amount of money and were telling me they were still alive. I called the FBI because they told me that when I received a threat or asked for money I had to call them,' Trujillo said.

'Many things go through my mind. It's been more than two weeks and we're worried about them.'

Trujillo is worried about her mother's well-being because she suffers from diabetes and high cholesterol.

The couple along with Pedro were last seen the afternoon of January 3 when they were getting ready to hold a community event in which they would raffle off several gifts, including home appliances.

Trujillo said her parents were highly regarded in Nochistlán and traveled there every year for the holidays.

'If she saw someone that didn't have shoes, my mother would go and give them some,' said Trujillo of her mother.

Trujillo said a report was filed with the Nochistlán municipal police a day later and that a house employee said the cops trashed the residence.

The police countered the employee's version of the events and warned Trujillo and her family not to travel down to Nochistlán because of security concerns.

'He's telling me that my mom's missing and to not go there because something could happen to me, and that he knows already they broke into my mom's house, they took the cars, the safe and the cameras,' Trujillo said.

'Why when I ask is there something missing in my mom's house, - 'No, everything is fine. Everything is there,' so it's kind of suspicious now.'

Trujillo's parents also own a business in Nochistlán.
