UAE says missing Panama tanker was not allowed to load, unload at its ports

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ABU DHABI, July 19 (KUNA) -- The United Arab Emirates said that in spite of being allowed to dock at its ports, the missing Panama-flagged tanker did not load or unload at UAE shores as it was over 25 years old.
The UAE's Federal Transport Authority said the measures were taken in line with its oil shipment guidelines.
The vessel, MT Riah, which Abu Dhabi denies owning, went missing in the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday.
The UAE went on to underline that none of the ship's crew were Emirati nationals. (end)
