Almost every night of the week, Seattle’s stages offer a roster of regional indie-folk artists, do-it-yourself punk bands and homegrown comedians, as well as nationally touring pop stars. To that end, choosing something for your night out can be a daunting task. This weekly guide can help by filtering for recommended shows, select dates and your favorite genres.

This week’s highlights

Nicky Jam, 8 p.m. Saturday, April 20, at WaMu Theater. The reggaeton singer is stopping in Seattle for one of 13 dates on his “Intimo” tour. Born Nick Rivera Caminero, Nicky Jam grew up in Puerto Rico and released his first album when he was just 13 years old. In 2017, the singer won a Billboard Music Award for Top Latin Song for “Hasta El Amanecer” and a Latin Grammy in 2015 for Best Urban Performance for the song “El Perdón” featuring Enrique Iglesias. Nicky Jam’s show is perfect for Latin-music lovers looking to dance the night away.

Wallows, 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, at the Showbox. The Los Angeles-based indie-rock band is coming to Seattle for their “Nothing Happens Tour” in support of their debut album of the same name. The band is made up of Cole Preston, Dylan Minnette and Braeden Lemasters. The latter two members are also actors. Minette stars in the popular Netflix drama “13 Reasons Why” while Lemasters has appeared in shows including “Grey’s Anatomy” and “NCIS.” The band released their debut single “Pleaser” in 2017 and their first EP “Spring” in 2018. “Nothing Happens” was released last month and features a mix of songs to sway (“Sidelines”) and jump around (“Scrawny”) to. The band kicked off their world tour last weekend at Coachella and will finish this June in Belgium.
