Manzanillo, October 10 (RHC)-- President Miguel Díaz-Canel underscored the patriotism of today's Cubans, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the beginning of Cuba's independence war.

In the first tweet via his official account @DiazCanelB -- opened this Wednesday, October 10th -- the Cuban president wrote: “We are here at La Demajagua, a place filled with patriotism #SomosCuba and #SomosContinuidad.”

In his message on Tweeter, the Cuban leader stressed that Cubans are marking the 150th anniversary of the launch of our country's independence war, a revolutionary process that began on October 10th, 1868, and continues to this date.

Addressing delegates to the 10th Congress of the Association of Cuban Journalists (UPEC), held in September, President Díaz-Canel announced that by December he would be on the social network Twitter.  He has now fulfilled his promise on this historic date.
