The skinny: Fresh off the first victory at Kentucky since 2014, the Gators now take on a South Carolina team it went 0-3 against last season and has lost four games in a row against. … The third loss to the Gamecocks last season was in the NCAA East Regional finals, with a spot in the Final Four at stake. … The Gators shot only 33 percent but held the Wildcats to 40 percent overall and 23 percent from the 3-point arc to win 66-64. … Jalen Hudson came off the bench to score 17 points and had five rebounds, while Chris Chiozza had 13 points and eight assists. … South Carolina has only two returning starters from their Final Four team, forwards Maik Kotsar and Chris Silva. … The Gamecocks did beat Kentucky earlier last week but lost to visiting Tennessee 70-63 on Saturday, as the Vols shot 57 percent and held USC to 37 percent.
