Crews respond to east side fire, 15 residents displaced

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Fifteen people, nine adults and six children, and 15 pets have been displaced following an east side double residence fire Friday morning.

According to the Indianapolis Fire Department, crews responded to a fire in the 2400 block of North Kitlely Avenue just before 4 a.m.

Residents told firefighters a dryer catching on fire was to blame.

No injuries were reported.

Damage is estimated at $60,000.

The Red Cross is working with the residents to help secure shelter.
