Utah is home to 35 new U.S. Citizens today

(Al Hartmann | The Salt Lake Tribune) Thirty-five people from 24 countries raise their hand and take the oath of allegiance to the United States in a naturalization ceremony by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service Tuesday Nov. 21 at the Hill Air Force Base Aerospace Museum.

Thirty-five new U.S. citizens were sworn in Tuesday at the Aerospace Museum at Hill Air Force Base -- the first such naturalization ceremony at this location.

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service swearing-in gathered qualified nationals from two dozen countries — from Bangladesh to Brazil, Japan to Zimbabwe.

The candidates also were from Argentina, Australia, Burma, Canada, Colombia, Cuba, Democratic Republic of the Congo, El Salvador, Guatemala, India, Italy, Mexico, Nicaragua, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Switzerland, Togo, Tonga and Venezuela.
